Jasprit Bumrah has made it to India’s Test squad for the three-match series in South Africa starting January, triggering a lot of excitement from fans who have been looking forward to the pacer’s inclusion in the longest format. MSK Prasad, the chairman of the selection committee, said Bumrah’s performance in the past 18 months had been “phenomenal”, which prompted his inclusion in the 17-member party.

Meanwhile, following impressive performances – especially in the Indian Premier League – youngsters Washington Sundar, Basil Thampi and Deepak Hooda were rewarded with spots in the 15-member Twenty20 International side to take on Sri Lanka. Jaydev Unadkat also earned a recall after last turning out for India in his only T20I in June 2016.

Here are Karunya Keshav and R Kaushik discussing the squads.
