  Commentary

  • Today was a real crunch game, and at one stage it looked like Hyderabad would acutally chase that down, but Bangalore kept their nerve. Nail-biters are becoming the norm in the IPL, not for the weak-hearted. For the others, do join us for another potential cracker of a game tomorrow. DD vs CSK it will be.

  • AB de Villiers: It's an amazing feeling, crazy game of cricket, but the crowd was behind us. We took some good catches, I was very happy that I took that catch. I look to put pressure on bowlers, if I got one or two going then it gets easier. I made it look better than the catch actually was, the ball was curving away. It's going to be so great if we make the playoffs, first thing we have to do is win the next game.

  • Virat Kohli: had to stay calm in the end, you've to understand that bowlers are in control of what they want to do at least, to be fair it wasn't easy, there was dew. Last three game, we've played really well. Someone stepping out every game, AB and Moeen did well and in the end Colin as well. We're very comfortable this side, Moeen has come in and has been bowling well and today his knock was fantastic. Colin also can chip in with a few overs. That gives the balance. (On AB's catch) That was spiderman stuff, normal humans don't do that. his shots still leave me in awe but his fielding I've become used to.

  • Player of the match - AB de Villiers

  • Kane Williamson: We missed a trick with the ball, when chasing a target like that you need to make a lot of good decisions. Lot to learn from this. We've seen the surface here being tough, but today it was good, the plan was for the guys to work themselves in and then get after it. Just trying to play my role for the team, we're just trying to find the right balance. Credit to RCB, they deserved to win today.

  • What a match that was. Williamson played out of skin to try and get close to the target and only fell in the final over, Pandey was slow initially but started really turning it on later. But it was the batsmen who set it up for the home side, specifically AB de Villiers and Moeen Ali. Basil Thampi's four overs proved very costly for Hyderabad. And with that victory, now four teams are tied on six wins from 13 games and they're all vying for a spot in the playoffs. Hyderabad, along with Chennai, of course have qualified.

  Full commentary

  • what a phenomenal effor tby Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kohli and De Villiers started things well but after Kohli fell to Rashid early, Hyderabad were starting to assert control. All that went out of hand when Basil Thampi came on for his first over and set things loose for Bangalore. He's got belted for 70 runs for no wicket, a dubious record for most runs conceded in the IPL. AB de Villiers (39-ball 69) and Moeen Ali (34-ball 65) were the chief architects of Bangalore's charge.

S Kaul to C de Grandhomme, OUT, now how about that for a catch and what about poetic justice, CdG has absolutely nailed the pull off the short ball. • Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli come to open the innings, Sandeep Sharma to start the bowling attack.

  • Virat Kohli: We would have bowled first as well, but not a bad thing to bat first against a side like Hyderabad. They have a good bowling attack so we'd look to put their batting under pressure by putting a few runs on the board. We've been through times like these before. We've to just come out and enjoy ourselves, we'll look to play with freedom.

  • Kane Williamson: We're going to have a bowl, hard to know how the surface will play. Hopefully we'll restrict them to a total. Basil Thampi comes in for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, just resting a few players. One of the key things is to adapt to different conditions and that is what we will look to do.

Most eyes in Karnataka and several part of India are currently trained on the Raj Bhavan in Bangalore following the results of the state assembly elections Come Thursday May 17 the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp however will have its sights firmly fixed heavenwards and for more reasons than one

  • If you've been following the Indian Premier League 2018 even closely, you'll know that it's a do-or-die game for Roylal Challengers Bangalore as it has been since the previous two games as well. Today they'll be faced with the mighty Sunrisers Hyderabad, arguably the strongest team this season. Hyderabad were the first to qualify to the playoffs and they'll be looking to continue in that splendid form. This is match 51 of the IPL and we'll bring you ball-by-ball updates.

  Full commentary

  • Today was a real crunch game, and at one stage it looked like Hyderabad would acutally chase that down, but Bangalore kept their nerve. Nail-biters are becoming the norm in the IPL, not for the weak-hearted. For the others, do join us for another potential cracker of a game tomorrow. DD vs CSK it will be.
